.......for a Just Christmas

This year we want to encourage you and many more churches to follow this example by launching your own Just Christmas initiatives. Not only will you recapture the real meaning and wonder of Christmas, you will also help to release those around you from time and fi nancial pressures at this often stressful time of the year.

Unite your church behind ‘Just Christmas’ The more people who get involved in supporting ‘Just Christmas’, the easier it becomes to challenge and change the materialistic culture that easily obscures what Christmas should be about. We don’t want you to feel ‘mean’ by not giving in expected ways this Christmas. Instead, we encourage you to be extra thoughtful and inventive in giving ‘freely’ to family and friends so you have more to give away to those in real need.

Ideas for your ‘Just Christmas’ list could include:

• Making a frame for a picture or photograph that will have special memories for someone.
• Offering to cook a meal
• Babysitting
• Gardening, shopping or DIY around the home
• Taking dogs for a walk
• Putting on a concert or entertainment
• Cleaning cars
• Tidying your room (the best present for any Mum or Dad!)

You can also spread the word by joining our ‘Just Christmas’ Facebook group. Here you can meet like-minded people and share helpful ideas for creating a ‘Just Christmas’.
